Colour Laser Printer
A colour laser printer was once seen as the office luxury that only blue chip offices owned, and even then they were excess to requirement. But thanks to technological development with both printers, decreasing the cost of printers and printing, and digital imagery, expanding the range of printable subjects, the colour laser printer is now a widely owned, functional tool.
For many years the only option for the home or small business user was to go with an inkjet. They cheap to purchase but expensive to run, and most owners soon discovered themselves printing less and less images simply due to the cost. The colour laser printer differs dramatically from the inkjet as it can produce high-resolution printouts quickly, but also at much lower cost per page. This is mainly due to the capacity and cost of printer cartridges versus colour toners – you would need to purchase 12-15 printer cartridges to perform the same number of printouts as just one colour toner. Many would argue, however, that the colour laser printer’s main advantage is not its cost of running, but rather the quality of its output. Laser printers operate at a much higher resolution than any other printer, allowing them to catch the full detail of digital photographs and the wide range of colours included. They are also able to reproduce images to paper much faster than an inkjet printer, which effectively means you can print a high-res image quicker on a laser printer than you can print a low-res image on an inkjet.
Colour laser printers have also adapted to the changing landscape of computing, offering models that will cater to the individual or small business, as well as corporate and large format printers. You can expect to pay as much 50% to 200% the original price of a standard inkjet printer, but the superior quality and substantially lower cost of living shall see you recoup this investment in no time.
